The result is a tool that can generate page layouts, write marketing copy, create logos, and produce images, all from simple text prompts. For users who want to get a professional-looking site online quickly without sweating over every design decision, it is a reasonable option worth considering.

What sets Hostinger apart from many competitors is its pricing model. Rather than offering a limited free tier with aggressive upsells, Hostinger bundles its website builder with web hosting, a free domain for the first year, and a free SSL certificate. All of this starts at just a few dollars per month. This all-in-one approach means you avoid the piecemeal costs that can add up quickly with other platforms.

The builder itself runs on a modern grid-based editor that lets you drag elements into place, customize fonts and colors, and preview your site across device sizes. It is not as feature-dense as Wix or as design-forward as Squarespace, but it strikes an effective balance between simplicity and capability, especially for small business owners, freelancers, and anyone who values speed over pixel-perfect control.

Hostinger does not have a forever-free plan, which is worth noting on a site dedicated to free website builders. However, the website builder now offers a free trial with no credit card required, so you can explore the editor, templates, and AI tools before paying. Hostinger's website builder page advertises 14 days, while its AI Builder support documentation describes a 7-day trial that includes 250 AI credits if you choose Agentic mode. Publishing is not available during the trial, and online stores created in the trial cannot connect payment methods. Paid plans also come with a 30-day money-back guarantee, so if the platform does not meet your expectations after you subscribe, you can get a full refund within that window.

In terms of raw cost, Hostinger is one of the more affordable options available. The builder-inclusive plans (Premium and Unlimited, formerly called Business) are sold at promotional intro pricing of a few dollars per month when you commit to a long billing cycle. Both include hosting, the website builder, a free domain for the first year, and free mailboxes for the first year; ecommerce is listed on Unlimited (and Cloud Startup) but not on Premium. When compared to standalone builders like Wix (which starts at roughly $17/month for comparable features) or Squarespace ($19/month), the introductory pricing undercuts most competitors. The tradeoff is that you need to commit to a multi-year subscription to lock in those rates. Monthly billing is substantially more expensive, and renewal prices increase significantly (Premium renews at $10.99/month, Unlimited at $16.99/month), which is an important factor to budget for.

We have not yet tested Hostinger's website builder hands-on. When we first evaluated it there was no way in without a paid subscription; a free trial (no card, no publishing) is now available. The ease of use score reflects publicly available information and Trustpilot feedback, not our direct testing. Based on what we can observe from documentation and user reviews, the builder uses a grid-based drag-and-drop editor with AI-assisted site generation.

Hostinger Horizons, Now Agentic Mode (Tested)

We tested Hostinger Horizons, the AI app builder that has since become the Agentic mode of Hostinger AI Builder (see AI Features). The onboarding asks you to describe your project, and the AI generates an application. Unlike Lovable, Horizons includes an inline visual editor where you can click on elements and modify them directly. This makes basic adjustments easier than prompt-only tools. The editor is functional for small changes like text edits, color tweaks, and layout rearrangements.

That said, the same fundamental issue applies: maintaining and evolving a Horizons-generated app requires either continued AI prompting (which consumes tokens and can break things) or manual code editing. For quick prototypes and demos, it works. For ongoing maintenance, non-technical users will struggle. The inline editing is a real advantage over Lovable, but it does not solve the underlying maintenance problem that all AI builders share.

Hostinger's plan listings advertise 400+ website templates (its AI Builder pages cite 600+ across the Manual and Agentic modes), spanning categories like business, portfolio, ecommerce, restaurants, events, and personal blogs. While the template count is smaller than Wix's library of 800+, the quality is consistently high. Templates are clean, modern, and mobile-responsive out of the box. Hostinger takes a mobile-first design approach, meaning that templates are optimized for smaller screens from the start rather than being desktop designs that adapt downward.

Customization within templates is easy but not limitless. You can modify colors, fonts, section ordering, and images, and you can add or remove content blocks like galleries, testimonials, pricing tables, and contact forms. However, you cannot make the kind of granular, pixel-level adjustments that platforms like Wix and Webflow allow. For most users, the available options are more than sufficient. For designers who want complete creative freedom, this might feel restrictive.

The feature set in Hostinger Website Builder is centered around AI-powered productivity tools, which now make up most of the product and are covered in detail in the AI Features section. Outside AI, the Manual mode editor covers the essentials: pages and navigation, global styles for colors, text, buttons and animations, a separate mobile editor, multiple languages, form submissions, a media library, and custom code in the page head or through embed elements.

Blogging and Content

Beyond AI, the builder includes a built-in blogging system with a basic post editor, categories, and scheduling. It is adequate for publishing regular content but lacks some of the depth you would find in WordPress, such as revision history, custom post types, or a robust plugin library. For simple business blogs or personal journals, it works well. Content-heavy sites that depend on advanced editorial workflows may find it limiting.

Marketing Integrations

Marketing integrations are dependable. You can connect Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Google Tag Manager, and Hotjar without needing to touch code. There is also built-in support for social media links, WhatsApp chat buttons, and email marketing integrations through platforms like Mailchimp. While the integration list is shorter than what Wix or Squarespace offer, it covers the essentials that most small businesses need to track visitors, run ads, and capture leads.

AI Features

AI is the center of Hostinger's builder. The product is now called Hostinger AI Builder, created by merging the former website builder with Hostinger Horizons into one tool with two modes: Manual for drag-and-drop editing and Agentic for building through a chat. The two modes are priced very differently, so it matters which one you use.

AI Site Generation in Manual Mode

When you create a site, you describe your business in up to 700 characters (typed, spoken, or guided by an attached image or PDF), and AI Builder generates a starting website. Hostinger's AI Builder page also mentions recreating a design from an existing website URL. In Manual mode you then customize that site with the drag-and-drop editor. Hostinger's support documentation says Manual mode does not use AI credits and is included with most Hostinger web and cloud hosting plans, which makes it the predictable option. You can switch a Manual project to Agentic mode later, but not the other way around.

AI Content, Image and Logo Tools

Manual mode's AI tools panel includes the AI Writer for website copy from headlines to product descriptions, an AI Blog Generator that turns a short description into a ready-to-publish article with pre-selected images, an AI Image Generator (one image per request, opened from section or image settings, with results saved to the media library), and an AI Logo Maker. For stores, Hostinger says AI can generate product titles, descriptions and images from a description or product photo. These are useful time-savers for small businesses without a copywriter or photographer, though generated logos and images are best treated as placeholders rather than a substitute for brand design.

AI SEO Assistant and In-Editor Assistant

The AI SEO Assistant in the SEO settings helps write meta titles, descriptions, URLs and keywords, and Hostinger's FAQ says it also suggests image alt text. An AI assistant inside the editor can update a page's SEO metadata, answer questions about your site's traffic and performance, and jump you to areas like SEO settings, pages, analytics, the blog and version history. Hostinger also offers a separate AI heatmap tool that predicts attention hotspots from an uploaded screenshot; it is a prediction rather than recorded visitor data, and Hostinger's Manual mode documentation does not list it among the editor's AI tools.

Agentic Mode (Formerly Horizons)

Agentic mode is a prompt-based builder for websites and web apps such as dashboards, client portals, booking tools, CRMs and SaaS prototypes. AI writes the code, and you get a built-in code editor, an integrated backend for data, user accounts, files and email, integrations such as Stripe, PayPal and Google AdSense, the option to add AI features like chatbots to your app, and full source code export. Stores connect to Hostinger Ecommerce through the chat. Agentic mode needs a separate credit-based AI plan (Hostinger names Explorer, Starter, Hobbyist and Hustler tiers) plus an active hosting plan to publish. Hostinger Agent

Plans include chatbot support from Hostinger Agent, an AI assistant that can set up services, connect domains, configure DNS and walk you through technical fixes. Support requests to Hostinger Agent are free, while business requests such as strategy, outreach or brand work draw on AI credits.

AI Credits and Limits

Since October 2026, AI credits are one shared balance used by AI Builder's Agentic mode, Hostinger Agent, Hostinger Reach, Hostinger AI Router and GPU instances. New hosting plans include a one-time gift of 250 credits on Premium, 500 on Unlimited and 1,000 on Cloud plans; renewals and upgrades do not add more, and the gift expires with the hosting plan. A promotion running at the time of writing doubles these amounts. Monthly credits come from the separate AI credit plan, reset on that plan's billing cycle, and top-ups start at 500 credits and expire after three months. Hostinger says a simple business page usually takes 5 to 10 credits and a more complex web app 15 or more, but charges are dynamic, so similar requests can cost different amounts. Every message counts, including general questions, small manual edits in Agentic mode's Select and edit view deduct a few credits, and undoing a change does not refund them.

The strength of Hostinger's approach is that the everyday AI tools in Manual mode come with the hosting plan and are not metered, which suits small businesses that want help with copy, images and SEO. The weakness is Agentic mode's cost model: you need a second subscription, credit use per request is hard to predict, and generated apps carry the usual maintenance burden of AI-written code.

Hostinger provides the fundamental SEO tools you need to get your site indexed and ranking. Every page allows you to set custom meta titles, meta descriptions, URL slugs, and alt text for images. The builder automatically generates a sitemap and submits it to search engines. All sites come with an SSL certificate, a confirmed ranking factor. Page load speed is generally good thanks to Hostinger's optimized hosting infrastructure, which contributes positively to Core Web Vitals scores.

Where Hostinger falls slightly behind competitors like Wix and Squarespace is in advanced SEO capabilities. The AI SEO Assistant helps write meta titles, descriptions, URLs and keywords, and the editor supports header tags, noindex, nofollow links and a language tag, but there is no built-in SEO audit tool, no step-by-step SEO checklist, and limited support for structured data markup beyond what the platform generates automatically. For sites competing in moderately competitive search niches, the basics are covered. If SEO is a primary growth channel for your business, however, you may want a platform that offers more granular control or better integrates with dedicated SEO tools. You can still connect Google Search Console and Google Analytics to monitor your performance and identify opportunities.

Hostinger's ecommerce capabilities are capable enough for small to mid-sized online stores. Here is what you get:

The zero transaction fee policy is a notable cost advantage over platforms like Squarespace, which charges 2% on its Basic plan. Hostinger advertises 100+ payment methods, including Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, depending on your location. Stores run on Hostinger Ecommerce, which Hostinger's support documentation describes as a subscription billed separately from the builder plan, so check what your plan includes at checkout. AI can also draft product titles, descriptions and images. You can also offer discount codes, set up shipping zones with custom rates, and manage tax settings. The checkout process is clean and mobile-optimized. For small businesses selling a manageable number of products, this is more than adequate. Stores with very large catalogs, complex inventory needs, or requirements for subscription billing or multi-currency support may outgrow the platform and need a dedicated ecommerce solution like Shopify.

Hostinger bundles its website builder with hosting, so every plan includes both the builder tool and the server space to host your site. Pricing is structured around the length of your subscription, with longer commitments yielding significantly lower monthly rates. Here is a breakdown of the main plans relevant to website builder users:

Introductory prices are promotional, tied to long billing cycles, and change often, so we list renewal rates instead. Monthly billing is available but costs substantially more. Ecommerce is listed on the Unlimited and Cloud Startup plans, not on Premium. Renewal rates are also considerably higher than the introductory prices, so factor those into your long-term budgeting. That said, even at renewal rates, Hostinger's pricing remains competitive with most website builders offering comparable features.

Verdict

Hostinger's website builder scores a 3.3 out of 5 in our review. We have not yet tested the website builder directly. There is no free plan: a no-card free trial now lets you try the editor, but you need a paid subscription to publish. This is the biggest drawback for a site focused on free builders. If you are willing to pay, the bundled hosting, free domain, SSL, and 0% ecommerce transaction fees represent reasonable value at the promotional intro price, and still fair value at the $10.99 per month Premium renewal rate.

We did test Hostinger Horizons, their AI app builder, which now lives on as the Agentic mode of Hostinger AI Builder. It is a competent AI builder with inline editing, which puts it a step ahead of Lovable in terms of usability. But the same limitations that apply to other AI builders apply here: maintaining generated apps is difficult, changes can break existing functionality, and it is better suited for prototyping than production use. For prototyping, Lovable's GitHub sync and Supabase integration still make it a more practical choice.

On AI, Hostinger is one of the more generous builders for everyday use: the AI Writer, image, logo and SEO tools in Manual mode do not use credits, while the prompt-based Agentic mode needs a separate credit plan with variable per-request costs. Renewal pricing is a real concern: the jump from the promotional intro rate to $10.99/month for Premium catches users off guard. Note that the headline figure moves with whatever promotion is running, so check the current offer and, more importantly, the renewal rate before committing to four years. If you need a free builder, Hostinger is not an option. If you are willing to pay and want a straightforward builder with good ecommerce, it is worth considering.
